Board Policy IHF-R Graduation Requirements for Cohort/Graduation Classes of 2028 and Beyond
Each student must earn twenty (20) hours of Community Service to meet the graduation requirement in Policy IHF, due by at least one semester prior to their graduation date (e.g. Spring graduates must complete by the end of the prior Fall semester; winter graduates must complete by the end of the prior Spring semester). However, students can meet the graduation requirement prior to the aforementioned semester. A student anticipated as an early graduate must complete all Community Service hours before graduation. Students are encouraged to complete at least five (5) hours of Community Service each academic year of high school to be considered on track to meet Community Service requirements.
- A student enrolled in Henry County Schools in the ninth grade and continuing enrollment uninterrupted through graduation shall complete twenty (20) hours of Community Service;
- A student enrolled in Henry County Schools in the tenth grade and continuing enrollment uninterrupted through graduation shall complete fifteen (15) hours of Community Service;
- A student enrolled in Henry County Schools in the eleventh grade and continuing enrollment uninterrupted through graduation shall complete ten (10) hours of Community Service;
- A student enrolled in Henry County Schools in the twelfth grade and continuing enrollment uninterrupted through graduation shall complete five (5) hours of Community Service.
A student enrolling in or transferring into Henry County Schools may be awarded credits for completing Community Service in any previous school district. Each such student shall be responsible for providing documentation of completion, which will be reviewed by an advisor or school level staff toward fulfillment of Policy IHF.
