End of Year Communication

The end of the 2024-2025 school year is fast approaching, and your 8th grade learner will soon transition to high school. The final months of 8th grade will be filled with many exciting milestones, memorable events, and celebrations. To provide these memorable experiences, each learner is responsible for paying 8th grade fees of $180. Final payment is due by Friday, April 25, 2025. The following activities have been planned for the 2024-2025 school year.

8th Grade Activities:

How to Pay:

MySchoolBucks payment options will be available Monday, March 17th.

You may pay the entire amount of $180 or pay for individual activities anytime before April 25th.

There is NO REFUND policy once payments are made. Refunds can not be given due to vendors requiring deposits on events to secure discounted rates.

Making a payment for 8th grade activities is your acknowledgement that you understand NO REFUND will be given under any circumstances.

Crossing Over Ceremony:

For this event, learners are required to wear black and white dress attire.

As part of our school’s commitment to preparing our learners for the adventure and rigor that high school brings, we must implement eligibility requirements for all 8th grade end-of-year activities. Although these events are an important part of being an 8th grader at MMS, they are a privilege that is earned rather than a right that all learners enjoy.

Below are the eligibility requirements for learners to attend the 8th grade EOY activities. We are notifying you of the requirements so that you can assist your child in meeting them, as we desire that every learner in 8th grade maintain the privilege of participating. The 8th grade learners have also been notified of these requirements and understand the expectations.

Beginning March 17, 2025, learners must meet ALL of the following criteria to be eligible to participate in the 8th grade end of year activities. Learners' eligibility will be reviewed on April 22nd and prior to each event. Any learners that become ineligible before the start time of an event will NOT receive a refund.

Academic Eligibility Requirements
- Learners must be in passing status for ALL classes, including connections. A grade of 70 and above is considered passing.
Behavior Eligibility Requirements
- Level 2 or Higher Violations
  - Any learner who receives a Level 2 or higher referral after March 17th is NOT ELIGIBLE to participate in 8th grade EOY activities.
Level 1 Violations
- Any learner who receives more than two Level 1 referrals after March 17th is NOT ELIGIBLE to participate in 8th grade EOY activities.
Attendance Eligibility Requirements
1. No more than 3 unexcused absences after March 17th.
