The end of the 2025-2026 school year is fast approaching, and your 8th-grade learner will soon transition to high school. The final months of 8th grade will be filled with many exciting milestones, memorable events, and celebrations. To provide these memorable experiences, each learner is responsible for paying the 8th-grade fees of $195. Final payment is due by Tuesday, April 28, 2025. The following activities have been planned for the 2025-2026 school year.

8th Grade Activities:

● Great Wolf Lodge - $95 (food included) May 14th

● Formal Dance - $45 May 16th

● Honors Day Ceremony (No Cost)  May 18th Invitation ONLY

● Field Day (No Cost)  May 19th

● Block Party- $40 (food included May 21st (at MMS)

● 8th grade T-Shirts - $15 Wear on the day of the Block Party

● Crossing Over Ceremony (No Cost) May 21st (6:00 pm at MHS) (For this event, learners are required to wear black and white dress attire.)

How to Pay:

Before you can make a payment, the Refund Policy (PDF LINK AT END OF PAGE) must be signed and submitted to Ms. Banks via in-person or email: Olivia.Banks@henry.k12.ga.us by Friday, March 27th. (No signed contract, No payment will be accepted)

● GoFans payment options will be available on Monday, March 30th.

● You may pay the entire amount of $195 or pay for individual activities anytime before Tuesday, April 28th.

There is NO REFUND once a payment is made. Refunds can not be given due to payments to vendors.

Making a payment for 8th-grade activities is your acknowledgement that you understand NO REFUND will be given under any circumstances. Please check with the counselor, Ms. Noel, or the assistant principal, Ms. Parker, to verify if your learner is eligible to participate before making a payment.

As part of our school’s commitment to preparing our learners for the adventure and rigor that high school brings, we must implement eligibility requirements for all 8th-grade end-of-year activities. Although these events are an important part of being an 8th grader at MMS, they are a privilege that is earned rather than a right that all learners enjoy.

Below are the eligibility requirements for learners to participate in our 8th-grade EOY activities. We are notifying you of the requirements so that you can assist your child in meeting them, as we desire every 8th-grade learner to maintain the privilege of participating. The 8th-grade learners have also been notified of these requirements and understand the expectations.

Beginning March 19, 2026, learners must meet ALL of the following criteria to be eligible to participate in the 8th-grade end of year activities. Learners' eligibility will be reviewed on April 24th and prior to each event. Any learners who become ineligible before the start time of an event will NOT participate nor receive a refund.

1. Academic Eligibility Requirements

a. Learners must be in passing status for ALL classes, including connections. A grade of 70 and above is considered passing.

2. Behavior Eligibility Requirements

a. Level 2 or Higher Violations

      i. Any learner who receives a Level 2 or higher referral after March 19th is NOT ELIGIBLE to participate in 8th-grade EOY activities.

b. Level 1 Violations i. Any learner who receives more than two Level 1 referrals after March 19th is NOT ELIGIBLE to participate in 8th-grade EOY activities.

3. Attendance Eligibility Requirements

a. No more than 3 unexcused absences after March 19th.
