Ms. Tamara Barkley

Tamara Barkley wins for kids every single day. She is the epitome of what it means to be a Warhawk: she is the first to pitch in and help out, she helps all students be the best version of themselves, and she is the first to give an encouraging word or a supportive smile.

Although she already  holds a degree in business, Ms. Barkley is working towards a second degree in special education. Her passion for helping the ESE population has grown during her time as an ESE parapro.

Ms. Barkley is a product of the HCS environment. She attended Henry County Middle School and is a graduate of Henry County High School. Her former Early Childhood Education teacher, Glenda Twilley, tells Ms. Barkley often that she is has a heart and a calling to serve children. Naming Tamara Barkley as the McDonough Middle School Employee Support Person of the Year shows that HCS has a tradition of excellence. It will come full circle when Ms. Barkley receives her degree and is able to serve as a certified teacher in our system.

Ms. Barkley does more than support those inside out building. She is also the captain for our Relay for Life team. Her efforts to raise funds benefit those in our community who have been affected by cancer.
